It’s no surprise that your wedding day is going to go by in a flash. So, we are always looking for ways to not only help you stay present in the moment, but also hang onto the memories and experiences you have for the rest of your life. Here are five unique ways to harness the joy of your day other than through photo or video documentation.

ACCESSORIZE with details that will last
Select a quality shoe that will make a statement and that you can wear year after year on your anniversary. Wear a perfume or cologne that is brand new on your big day - this will help create a memory trigger whenever you put that same scent on again. Use a completely new lip color that you can use again on special date nights in future. Choose to purchase special earrings, a watch, bracelet, or cufflinks as a gift to one another. Being intentional about the accessories you wear on your wedding day will not only elevate your overall look, but give you at least one more way to cherish the happy memories of what could feel like the fastest, best day ever.
2. Don’t let your Stationery go to waste
Whether you choose to hire a custom stationer or you send out virtual RSVP’s, you can always choose to create at least one invitation or announcement to capture the essence of where your wedding was held, what time it occurred, and any other small details of the day. After all is said and done - Invitations can easily be framed, put into a memory box, or even turned into a Christmas ornament. This is a great way to remember your day and put the reminder in your home somewhere prominent that you see everyday.

3. Make time for the things you enjoy
If one of your favorites parts of the day is waking up next to your lover, don’t sacrifice doing that on your wedding day because it’s “what everyone expects” or it is “what everyone else does”. Do you look forward to coffee every morning or a warm croissant on a Saturday afternoon from the local bakery down the street? Make these things a focus of your day, not something you “wish you could have done”. It’s all possible, it just takes a little extra thought around timing or a helping hand to help bring those aspects of your day to life.

4. Create a New Tradition
Maybe a sparkler exit isn’t quite your style, the thought of a champagne tower toppling over stresses you out, or your family doesn’t have a long standing wedding tradition… now is your chance to create something epic that fits your love story and make it happen! Pop bubbly in the shower, getaway on a boat for a private cocktail or two, scale the side of the building you elope on. Whatever it is that you have been dreaming up, do it, because this is your day!

5. Stay somewhere you Can travel back to
Don’t be afraid of splurging a little on your stay. Even if you are getting married close to home, make sure the wedding night and the night after you take time to getaway and enjoy being with your love. Selecting a place to stay that is not your home is a great way to help recreate lasting memories years down the line. Even if you move to another country or state, you can always return to the city, beach, or boutique hotel you once spent the night after your wedding in to bring it all back.
